"OMG CLOSE TO _____ FOLLOWERS HELP ME OUT YEAH?!"
Whenever I see posts like that, I laugh a little on the inside. I know I’m not a “veteran” on this site to really say the whole “Tumblrs Changed” speech, but it’s pretty obvious how desperate people on here really get just to gain followers. What is raising that follower count gonna do for you? Self esteem boost I’m sure, but other than that nothing really. Sure, hundreds/thousands of people may follow you, but are they actually looking at what you post? It’s even sadder to see those people who yearn for followers do nothing but reblog reblog reblog. I like to come on here and read a meaningful post, look at kickass artwork, all that good stuff that people come up with themself. For me, I admit I did like the thought of having a lot of followers but now I could care less. I’m happy if whatever I post makes at least one person smile or interested. I’m happy with at least one person giving me positive feedback or if I even make one friend on here. Anyways, I praise those who look beyond the internet popularity. Those who look beyond the pretty faces amd what not. You guys make this site worth going too.
